Glimmer : A personal and shared exploration of queerness (Workshop)

Working in January with performance in June.

In partnership with OperaQ and the Canadian Music Centre.

Glimmer is a new trans-disciplinary, concert-length work by Thierry Tidrow that explores the many layers and interpretations of queerness, both within society and through diverse personal experiences. Commissioned by NMC, and presented at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, this piece marks a significant shift as it brings together text, music, and staging organically created by an all-queer team of performers and musicians.

Drawing on Tidrow’s extensive experience from operatic and theatrical projects in Germany, this work is tailored for a North American context, focusing on themes that have always been central to his artistic practice and personal identity. Through a series of workshops, the narrative and text will be shaped collaboratively to create a piece that is both intimate and autobiographical.
