OperaQ

Ryan currently works as an artistic producer for a number of organisations in both full time and contract positions. As Co-Founder/ Artistic Director of OperaQ, Ryan has been responsible for producing their live and digital works. Most recently, OperaQ’s first commission Medusa’s Children was nominated for the 2023 Opera America “Digital Excellence in Opera '' Awards. Nominated alongside LA Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Boston Lyric Opera, The Dallas Opera and Against the Grain Theatre, reaffirmed the work that OperaQ continues to do.

Theatre of Early Music

Ryan is the associate artistic producer and current administrator for the Theatre of Early Music (TEM). Ryan has organized tours that have seen the choir and orchestra of TEM attend the Bethlehem Bach Festival, Music and Beyond Festival, and Toronto Bach Festival, and appeared in recitals in New York City, Montreal, and Ottawa. As a producer, Ryan was instrumental in producing the critically acclaimed production of Dido and Aeneas featuring legendary Canadian ballerina Evelyn Hart and mezzo-soprano Wallis Guinta, An Ode to James Bowman, which featured Dame Emma Kirkby and Charles Daniels and, most recently, coordinated with Heritage Canada to plan the music for the State Funeral of the Honourable Ed Broadbent PC, CC. Ryan has produced dozens of concerts which feature many of North America's leading baroque instrumentalists and singers.

Academic

At the University of Toronto, Ryan plays a critical role in the Historical Performance Department. Assisting over 40 students and faculty, Ryan is responsible for planning the area's season and executing its productions. Select performances have included Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and King Arthur, Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Allegri’s Miserere Mei and numerous choral and instrumental programs. 


Clinican

As a clinician, working with musicians to use music and their individual voice as a tool for storytelling and self expression, Ryan has worked with the voice faculties at Memorial University, Dalhousie University and the University of Toronto, Shallaway Youth Choir, Lady Cove Women's Choir, Young Voices Toronto and Aureus Voces. 

Freelance Artistic Producer

As a freelance artistic producer, Ryan has worked with HarbourVOICES! International Festival of Collective Singing Traditions, Nota Benne Players and Timothy Eaton Memorial Church.
